WE ARE A WOMEN-LED TEAM THAT BALANCES RELATIONSHIPS AND RIGOR TO SUPPORT OUR CLIENTS WITH HOLDING COMPLEXITY.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion -Â Shute Mihaly and Weinberger:Â a progressive environmental law firm facing a time of welcomed growth. The partners wanted to ensure that this growth deeply embedded values of diversity, equity, and inclusion. Through a two-year process, Soil and Shadow executed a comprehensive organizational assessment, supported the creation of guiding principles for the firm, coached the DEI committee, helped troubleshoot a series of specific managerial processes, and offered conflict navigation training and facilitation training. Through this process, the firm developed a set of core guiding principles embodying its diversity, equity, and inclusion values and created a senior management position focused on advancing those values in its everyday operations.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion -Â The 11th Hour Project:Â in our initial engagement, we listened to and mirrored the staff of this philanthropic project, resulting in a subsequent engagement of two years of coaching and strategic advising to ensure staff had the interpersonal skills to relate to themselves and each other in new ways, and the ability to connect those interpersonal skills to their external strategy for growth.
- Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion -Â Alliance for Sustainable Colorado:Â in our initial engagement, we listened to and mirrored both Board and staff as well as other stakeholders in an intensive process of organizational direction clarification, resulting in a series of recommendations on needs & actions to take to meet them based on the work the Alliance wants to do in the world.
Social impact practitioners are consistently overwhelmed, burning out, and prone to the existential crisis endemic in the mental and emotional load of facing society’s biggest problems.

“I had the good fortune to work with Nikki, and walked away so impressed that I would recommend her to anyone looking for help tackling diversity, equity, and inclusion issues within their organization. Part of Nikki’s brilliance is her understanding that organizational culture and program strategies can’t be isolated. You have to tackle both, and she is absolutely capable of doing so. I would (and regularly do) recommend her to anyone hoping to take on this sort of work, whether in the NGO world, government, or the private sector.”

"Nikki was the difference. Her communication style broke through the noise. There were a few folks on our team that just needed to hear it from someone like her before they had their 'aha' moment. Our other consultants didn't have the human touch. They were too consultanty. =)
